With over 14 million people watching each match throughout the 30 day tournament, Euro 2016 has the world’s attention and is making their mark with social media. The hashtag #Euro2016 has already been used over 500k times per day since the tournament began and each matches customized hashtags (#ENGWAL, #TUR) have been used 500k-2M times generating a huge social presence. Sponsors of Euro 2016 are also using social media extremely well, with Adidas’s #FirstNeverFollows campaign taking off this weekend with incredible numbers.
Another great campaign by Orange, a French wireless cell network, was announced last week and has gotten the attention of almost every media and news publication following the tournament.
